I'm making a bunch of backless chairs from the standard metal folding chair (though without a front cross bar). Can anyone tell me a good cheap source to get these in the SF Bay Area? -Owen

Re: folding chair source
11/17i assume that this is for a yoga prop?
i'm curious to hear how it turns out, cause it seems that without the front crossbar (you're talking about the lower crossbar that connects the legs?) and without the back, the chair legs would be extremely unstable....

Re: folding chair source
12/12I can't remember, but I believe I got mine at Target. A fellow yoga student hacked out the back for me (not sure how he did it).

Re: folding chair source
01/13i recently got one at target for about $8.75. not sure what you mean about the front cross bar, though. also, the target i was at did not seem to have a very large quantity in stock.
